Guide to choosing a course

Most important selection criteria
The longer and more extensive a course is, the bigger the chances of it being a valuable course. Likewise, it is a sign of quality if a course has more trainers and specialists with considerable experience in the roleplay acting sector.

Our advice is to first look at the above two criteria.

The overview of courses shows the various options for roleplay acting courses in the Netherlands.

Good questions to ask when making a choice
Asking a training provider any of the below questions can help you in discerning the quality and suitability of a course:

  • How long have you been providing this course?
  • What skills will I have after completing this course?
  • What does the training schedule look like?
  • By which methods do the participants of this course learn the curriculum?
  • How much time will be spent on the various components of the course?
  • Do you offer other learning opportunities other than ‘one-on-one roleplay’ (e.g. an internship)?
  • How much of this course is spent learning online, face-to-face, in an internship…?
  • Is there an exam or assessment at the end of the course? Is it possible to fail the exam/assessment? (The NVvT considers courses with exams in which failure is a possibility a sign of quality)
  • Are there additional costs apart from the fee shown?
  • Who can I contact to ask for reviews of this course?

To be clear: the NVvT does not provide an opinion on and/or endorsement of the courses in the overview.  We merely share the features of the roleplay acting courses known to us in order to inform prospective roleplay actors.

All the best in your endeavors!
